Description
Sheffield City Hall is a magnificent 1930`s art deco classical concert hall which has been respectfully modernised, whilst maintaining the unique atmosphere and charm of the original heritage. Situated in the heart of the city, it hosts over 400 events per year including national and regional business events, the famous Sheffield International Concert Season (SICS), a variety of rock and pop concerts, operas, big bands, comedy shows and nightclubs. The £12.5m refurbishment of the City Hall has provided the very best standards of accessibility, comfort and service and with first class corporate hospitality, conferencing and banqueting, it is Yorkshire’s premier concert hall and convention centre. Sheffield City Hall compromises of five levels that can be utilised for larger conferences with additional exhibition space if required: Level 1 Ballroom, Level 2: City Bar, Level 3: Foyer & Stalls, Level 4: Circle and Level 5: Balcony. The Irwin Mitchell Oval Hall is a prestigious auditorium which can seat over 2000 delegates and incorporates a stage measuring 19m x 8m. The smaller Memorial Hall on the same level, at the back of the building, includes a demountable stage and a versatile seating configuration, thus allowing heater, cabaret styles or a clear area. This is approx 245sq m as a clear area without seating or stage. The Ballroom on level one has a main central area giving approximately 475sq m (including the temporary stage) and two inter-connecting rooms, the North and South Halls on either side. The North Hall is the smaller of the two with approx 150sq m compared to the South Hall’s 175sq m. On Level four there are two Hospitality Rooms (Barbirolli & Harris Suites) each giving approx 50sq m of space and these can be configured to seat either 50 delegates theatre style or 24 delegates boardroom style. In addition there are two smaller Breakout Areas on Level 5 each offering 25sq m of space.
